Facilitating Group Collaboration
Learning can be made easier when shared in groups.
WebCOM provides the tools, through Drop Box Areas (electronic mailboxes for exchanging messages or projects), and centralized repositories, to encourage communication and knowledge sharing.
Drop Box is an electronic means of file sharing and communicating. Drop Box allows you to organize and manage communication by class or section, or whatever grouping method you prefer.
Functionality that you’ll appreciate:
- Rather than email addresses, names appear, protecting user identity outside of your specific usage.
- Files or messages may be sent to individuals or to a group with a single click.
- Files put into a drop box cannot be seen by others.
- You control how Drop Box is used and who has access to it.
- Drop Boxes may be organized by class or section, helping you more evenly manage communication and homework grading.
- Students may use Drop Box as a storage area for their papers, presentations, or any electronic file, eliminating the need to carry CD-ROMs or other storage devices to class, lab, or home.
- Drop Box is accessed using the Internet.
The Site Administrator controls access privileges and views to your learning site.
